Sonnenberg Village
Sonnenberg School
The Sonnenberg School #10 was in use until 1948. The property was purchased in 1860. A fire in March of 1905 damaged the original building but it was promptly rebuilt. Eight grades were in one room with as many as 46 students in one year. The school is located on Zuercher Road right across from the Salem Mennonite Church. After adding some much needed support to the brick walls, the hope is that the school can be moved as is. Once adequate funds have been raised, the moving of the Sonnenberg School to the Sonnenberg Village will be scheduled.
