Under the joint leadership of the Kidron Communtiity Historical Society and the Kidron Merchants’ Association, a committee has been formed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Swiss Mennonites to the Sonnenberg-Jericho-Kidron area in 1819.
A member of each organization has agreed to be the co-facilitators with many people taking on different organizational roles as their interests permit. As the saying goes…”Many hands make light work.”
As plans develop, we will let people know through the Dalton Gazette and Kidron News newspaper and through this website.
The one plan that the Committee has agreed upon, so everyone knows in advance to keep the dates open, is that the events, including a parade, will occur on August 9 - 11th, 2019. So, please mark your calendars.
