Research materials about your heritage

Welcome

The Kidron Community Historical Society is located in the village of Kidron in Wayne County, Ohio. We are dedicated to collecting, preserving and maintaining items of historical importance in the Kidron-Sonnenberg community that was settled here in 1819. We maintain a historical museum in downtown Kidron, the Kidron-Sonnenberg Heritage Center, with many items on display from the local community.

A large genealogical database and research library is available in the museum, with a focus on Amish and Mennonite ancestry. We also operate the Sonnenberg Village on the outskirts of Kidron where we preserve historical buildings utilizing a sustainable living model that features renewable energy, green building technology, and sustainable gardening and landscape techniques.

Genealogy or SAGA Database Access

Anyone is welcome to stop in at the Heritage Center during regular business hours. Access to our genealogy database or the SAGA database is free. The research library inside the Heritage Center is available to use on Saturdays 11am - 3pm.
If you wish to access our database via the internet, you may do so by joining SAGA and obtain the information from our genealogy database through their system. Our genealogy database cannot be accessed directly through the internet.
